Collapsed Building Kills 6-Year-Old Boy

Tragedy struck recently when a six year old boy, identified as Tunde Ogunrinde lost his life after a dilapidated building in Totoro area of Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, collapsed on him.
LEADERSHIP gathered that Tunde who had bought a biscuit from a nearby house was said to have returned to his mother’s room to enjoy the biscuit when the building collapsed on him and he died instantly.
The ugly incident, which has thrown the Ogunrinde family into mourning since it occurred, was also said to have affected the Ogunrindes’ neighbours.
Eye witnesses at the burial of the remains of the little boy yesterday said that the structure collapsed at about 5.15pm on the fateful day and thick smokes from the rubble enveloped the scene, which made it difficult to immediately rescue him.
“We could not immediately ascertain that someone was there, until few minutes later when his parent were searching for him,” a resident who did not want his name in print told our correspondent.
But, the chairman of the Local Vigilante and popular radio presenter, Amusa Adio told our correspondent that immediately the bang of the collapsed building was heard, he rushed to the scene.
“It was true that the boy had just bought biscuit nearby. He even gestured to me to show the biscuit.
“After the collapse, the issue of who might have been a victim started and in the process of looking for him that attention was shifted to the scene and behold his lifeless body was found in the rubble,” Adio said.
